Mweya safari lodge is one of the luxury accommodations within queen Elizabeth national park and it’s found in the center of the park at the mweya peninsular. The lodge offers really a memorable experience to the tourists while on their safari because of the breathtaking views of mountain Rwenzori, the rift valley, kazinga channel that joins lake George and Edward on the eastern side.

Mweya lodge is strategically located within the national park with abundance of nature such as a large number of wildlife species such as buffaloes, elephants, lions, hippopotamus, leopards, kob among others, bird species such as brown backed scrub robin, palm nut culture, long created eagle, black belied bustard, shoe bill, martial eagle, white-tailed lark among others. The kazinga channel alone is a habitat to wildlife such as antelopes, buffaloes as well as birds such as kingfisher, majestic African fish eagle among others. The vegetation such as the papyrus swamp, the water weed along the channel and the mangrove swamps.

ACCOMODATION AT THE LODGE

Standard rooms; the lodge has 32 single, double and twin standard rooms that offer services like the en-suite bathrooms, electric safes, telephones, fan, balcony doors among others.

Deluxe rooms; the lodge has 12 double, twin deluxe rooms with king size beds, air conditioning and well furnished. Amenities such as wooden floor, ac units, en-suite bathrooms, electric fans, balcony doors as well as telephones.

Suites; the safari lodge has 2 suites with facilities like the fan, wooden floors, electric safes, en-suite bathrooms, large windows, foldup sofa bed, mini bar, living room with sofas for relaxation.

The royal family cottage; this is similar to the Rwenzori family cottage except the royal cottage has one en-suite master bedroom with queen sized bed, one twin bedroom whereas other facilities such as natural wood floors, living room, mini bar fridge, plasma tv screen connected to dstv, ac unit, telephone. Visitors are served with coffee or tea.

Queens cottage; there’s a lot of comfort while on a Uganda safari within the queen cottage at the mweya lodge. The cottages were constructed in a monastic architecture with facilities such as master bedroom with king-sized bed, en-suite bathrooms with shower, twin rooms with en-suite bathrooms, large living room, kitchenette with full facility, large balcony, plasma tv screen connected to dstv, mini bar, dining room, ac units.

Presidential cottage; the lodge has a luxury presidential cottage with facilities like main bedroom, modern interior, large and extended balcony that looks out to kazinga channel, en-suit bathroom and shower, twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom, small kitchenette, living room with dinning area, luxury furniture and fittings, plasma tv screen connected to dstv, mini fridge, ac units among others.

Rwenzori family cottage; the lodge has a family cottage which is well furnished with facilities like one en-suite master bedroom with king size bed. Two twin rooms with a bathroom, living room, wooden floors, mini bar fridge, safes and telephones. Tourists are offered with coffee or tea.

Luxury tents; the lodge has 4 tents where 2 are doubles and  2 twin tents with facilities such as en-suite bathrooms, dressing tables, work desks, ceiling fans, lounge chairs and the attractive views of kazinga channel.

Activities that one can enjoy while at the mweya lodge include; boat cruise at the kazinga channel, community walks, hiking at the Katwe crater lakes, nature walks within the kyambura gorge, tracking the tree climbing lions and many more.
